Resident M.C.
SIMON
O'KEEFFE
“Has established a truly noteworthy presence on the scene” Dublin Event Guide
“A top act" The Skinny (Scotland)
“Incomparable skills as compere” www.dublinks.com
“A witty mix of rehearsed and quick tongued impromptu comedy” www.kilkennycityonline.com
“Damn! That’s the prettiest hair I’ve ever seen on a boy” Reginald D. Hunter
An exciting and edgy act who is headlining more and more clubs around Ireland and even the U.K, Simon is definitely one to watch. A professional comedian since 2005, he is one of the most regular performers at all the top comedy clubs in the country and has played some of the biggest clubs in the U.K. including The Comedy Store, The Stand, Jongleurs, The Glee and Rawhide many times.
An extremely adept and accomplished M.C., Simon is now in his fifth year as resident M.C. of the Capital Comedy Club every Wednesday and Sunday in Temple Bar’s Ha’Penny Bridge Inn. He has hosted shows at some of the biggest comedy festivals in Ireland including the Carlsberg Comedy Carnival and is now one of the resident M.Cs. of both the Laughter Lounge Belfast and the Laughter Lounge Waterford.
A regular contributor to Irish media, he has appeared on Dublin’s 98Fm, Newstalk 106, Spin 103.8, WLR FM, Dublin City FM, NEAR FM and Belfield FM. His television debut came on The Big Bite on RTE1 and he recently starred in the pilot TV show Freeloaders for Loch Bo films. He has written material for Katherine Lynch’s new series on RTE television and has also appeared on Swedish television as part of an item in a travel program on things to do in Waterford (that’s go to see him play hopefully).
